Operation School Flags

When the Columbus School System announced they were making it mandatory to have the Pledge of Allegiance recited in every class, every morning, a change from a 1988 ruling, they discovered that approximately 1,000 classrooms no longer had a flag.  The American Legion has agreed to partner with the community to provide these flags.

The flag selected is wall mounted 24" x 36" flag.

Community Partnership

We know members of the Community want to help, so the American Legion of Central Ohio will spearhead this project.
Anyone in the community wanting to donate to this cause can send a check made out to "American Legion, 12th District Council" with a memo of "Columbus School Flags" to:

This is a tax deductible donation.  All Community Partners will be listed on this Web site.

Any monies collected in excess of those needed for the flags will be used for educational material such as materials on flag etiquette and flag history.
