Committees
Committees
Our District is divided into Committees to support our four pillars. These committees are designed to better our support of our posts. Our Committees are listed below.
Americanism
These Programs assist The American Legion in teaching our youth and the community about promoting patriotism.
Legislative
The American Legion is the largest lobbying group for Veterans at the State and National levels. As the creators of the VA and the Montgomery GI Bills, we have connections all the way to Washington D.C.
National Security
Who best to understand the National Security needs fo this country than veterans. This includes the reporting on the POW/MIA status as well as recognizing those from our Law & Order community.
Veterans Administration & Rehabilitation
As the creator of the VA it is our responsibility to hold the VA accountable and report on what's happening. We are also accountable for VA benefits and for providing support to those in long term care through our Gifts For Yanks program.
Veterans Employment & Education
We are involved in the education and employment of our veterans and their families.
Media & Communications
There is a need for us to communicate with our members as well as with the community. We need to let people know what events are coming up and about all of the good that we are doing.
Internal Affairs
And finally Internal Affairs looks after the SAL, the Legion Riders, post acxtivities, resolutions , our relief activities, Women veterans and any special committees appointed by the District Commander
