Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall - Gahanna Post 797, October 2025

On Thursday October 2, 2025 after two years of planning by the members of the American Legion Post 797 in Gahanna Ohio, the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall arrived in Gahanna Ohio and was assembled in Veteran Park in front of the VFW Post 4719.  Congratulations to Post 797 Commander Gary Filaseta, 1st Vice Commander Crystal Cockerell, Finance Officer Tom Kneeland and all of the members.

Arrival and Assembly - Pictures

The wall arrived in a single truck on Thursday October 2 at about 10:15 AM.  It took about 3 1/2 hours to assemble with the guidance of the Wall management team from Florida.

Opening Day - Pictures

The opening ceremony started at about 10:00 AM and started with the laying of a couple of wreathes by Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart Recipients, John George and Dick Poczik.  THe invocation was given by the Chaplain from the Chalmers P. Wylie VA, David Kuntz.  and finally speeches were offered by Brigadier General Michael Bouchard and Gahanna Police Chief Jeffrey Spence.
